If there’s one thing everyone agrees on in 2023 it’s that food belongs on plates, not in landfills. And that’s our sole focus at Second Harvest.

Every single day our team works across the country, tirelessly hunting down surplus food and immediately redirecting it to non-profits that provide it to the 6.9 million people facing food insecurity in their daily lives. It’s hard work and it requires extreme determination, but every bit of good healthy food that’s saved from being wasted keeps harmful greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere and makes nutrition accessible for people struggling to eat. Last year alone, we rescued and redistributed 53.3 million pounds of food to more than 7,500 non-profit programs in Canada.

Second Harvest is hosting our 2023 Holiday Online Auction from November 16 – 23, 2023, and we’re seeking prize donations. Help us make this the Best Holiday Auction ever!

Our goal for this year’s holiday auction is to generate $50,000, enough to provide food for 100,000 healthy meals for food-insecure Canadians. Previous auctions have included prizes like gift cards, luxury items, travel experiences, books, electronics, fine wine and more.
