Grossmont College CARE Holiday Event
Other Event Type for Foundation For Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges/ Grossmont College CARE ProgramDec 07, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Dear Community Member,
At Grossmont College we serve a diverse student population, including single parents, through our
Extended Opportunity and Services (EOPS) and Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)
programs. Currently we are working to put together one of our biggest events, our Holiday Event, for all
of our CARE families. This includes our single parent students along with all of their children ages 0-18
years old.
We are writing to request donations for our annual CARE holiday event taking place on December 7th.
Our CARE program provides a holiday celebration for our low-income single parent students to
alleviate some of their financial stressors during the holiday season. Our CARE students work hard to
provide better opportunities for their children by making the choice to go back to school despite
numerous personal and financial hardships.
This year we will kick off our holiday event with an interactive activity promoting the importance of
family time and self-care. We provide a full dinner including refreshments & dessert, music, activities,
arts & crafts, face painting, story time with Santa, raffles, and giveaways for both parents and children.
To end the night, each child receives a gift from Santa and takes a family picture with him.
Our CARE MC will recognize all donors throughout the event. In addition, the holiday Power Point will
automatically scroll and show the names & logos of all donors. After the event, the CARE team will
follow up with thank you cards and pictures from the CARE families.
With your support, we hope to share with our single parent students and their children, the love and joy
that truly makes the holiday season bright. We are seeking donations in the form of gift cards, gift
certificates or cash. For cash donations, please donate to our CARE Families Foundation Fund Account:
