While this is our sixth Homecoming for Heroes (HFH) gala, it will be our first one in two years due to the COVID pandemic. This year’s event will be held from 5:30 to 9:00 PM on April 23rd, 2022, at the National Mounted Warrior Museum (NMWM) outside Fort Hood, Texas. It will feature a living history demonstration, silent and live auctions, entertainment, a guest speaker, and several special guests. Our last gala in 2019 had over 400 guests in attendance; we expect to draw a similar audience this year. Our goal is to raise $100,000 at the event.

The Homecoming for Heroes gala benefits the NMWM, which honors the US Army’s mounted soldiers and Fort Hood, Texas. The Museum will be an educational destination for our region’s schools, our nation’s civilian patriots, and the millions of veterans who want to share their experiences with their loved ones. Once open, we expect the Museum to draw 377,000 visitors per year.

Although Homecoming for Heroes is a fundraiser, it is also an opportunity to honor those who display selfless service and sacrifice while defending our nation - Active Duty and Reserve Component soldiers, as well as veterans. Eighty soldiers from Fort Hood will be able to attend the event free of charge - it will provide them with an opportunity to have fun and see that our community and nation do genuinely appreciate their service.
