Jack Lovejoy was a devoted member of the Rockton Lions Club, who now organizes the Jack Lovejoy Memorial Golf Outing in his honor to raise money for his scholarship fund. The annual event started in 2018. 100% of the proceeds from this event are donated to the scholarship fund. The Jack Lovejoy Scholarship Fund is a career and technical education scholarship awarded annually to graduating seniors of Hononegah High School and South Beloit High School. Jack himself was a graduate of Hononegah High School and South Beloit is the home of his now second generation business, Jack’s Tire Sales & Service. Applicants must be pursuing a career which requires a post-high school professional certificate and/or an associate’s degree and typically does not require a bachelor’s degree.

The Northern Illinois Community Foundation (NICF) reviews all applicants, helps to determine whether or not applicants qualify for a scholarship and how much will be awarded to each applicant.
