Description

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that can strike children and adults at any time. Its  onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. Besides coping with a lifelong dependence on injected insulin, these adults and children must face the constant threat of devastating, life-threatening complications. TID requires intensive, 24/7 management. There are no days off, and there is no cure- yet.

Since 1970, JDRF has supported more than $2.5 billion in diabetes research, which also benefits the 32 million Americans living with type 2 diabetes. While JDRF’s core mission is funding leading-edge research, our local Community Engagement program provides support to all those impacted by T1D. From the day of diagnosis to daily life decades later, JDRF supports and connects people in the T1D community to help them live better lives.

On November 17th, the JDRF Upstate New York Chapter will host their JDRF Soiree on at the Glen Sanders Mansion. We will proudly honor Tom Burke and The Burke Companies. We will raise funds for our local T1D community and support research to cure, prevent and treat T1D. This event is known for its wonderful corporate networking opportunities, exquisite live and silent auction, and our meaningful Fund A Cure.

We are writing to invite you to become part of the cure by donating an item to be included our silent auciton. We will be using mobile bidding which will give our full chapter the opportunity view and bid on items even if they aren't at the event with us. Please help us turn type one into type none.

Thank you.
