The Kourageous Karter Foundation aims to make life better for medically complex kids and the people who love them. Our organization is inspired by our parenting journey with our son, Karter. Karter was born with an unexpected, severe brain injury.  Although he has a severe disability, his life is full of joy and gives the gift of perspective to everyone.  

We know first-hand how challenging, expensive, and grief-filled this journey is.  We want to make a difference.  Our organization takes raises money for mission projects that directly impacts families like ours.

Our annual fundraising event is support our mission project to purchase medical technology that helps kids with disabilities walk.  This technology, the Trexo Robotic Gait Training System, is the only technologies that helps kids who are unable to walk independently experience walking at home and in their communities with the exoskelteon design.  Bodies are made to move, and there are so many health benefits to walking!  All kids deserve this experience, but this technology is not yet covered by insurance.
