"Let's Make it thru 4th Marking Period" project is one that i created years ago when I noticed how much the students' attentions waned during the spring. Their focus, motivation, and engagement decreased significantly and their grades dropped as a result. 

This 9 week long project has many components that the students engage in daily in order to earn as many points as possible. They are in competition with the others students in their classes. At the end of the 9 weeks, we have a big raffle event, where all of their points turn into raffle tickets and they can try to win prizes. 

The difficult part has always been securing prizes that are amazing enough to get their attention and make them work hard to earn the points. The better the prizes, the more participation and hard work I see on my end. 

Half of my students have disabilities and are part of the special education program here at the high school. This project really helps them increase their participation during class, seek additional help before school and at lunch, dress professionally, and increase their overall work ethic and become better students.
