On behalf of the Local Leadership Board, event co-chairs, planning committee, and staff at the American Lung Association (ALA) South Florida, it is my honor to invite you to the American Lung Association's annual LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree, presented by the Erwin and Barbara Mautner Foundation. The 2023 Sunset Soiree takes place at the W Fort Lauderdale on June 3rd.

The LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree is the premier luxury lifestyle event of the season. This year's Sunset Soiree will feature a Sip' n' Shop Style Lounge, themed cocktails by Tito's Handmade Vodka, music, performances, a tempting silent auction by Ginsberg Shulman Attorneys at Law, Digital Photobooth by UKG, a meaningful Light the Way Luminary procession powered by FPL to honor local LUNG FORCE Heroes impacted by lung cancer, and more!

Numerous luxury brands and corporate partners have stepped up for the cause, including Audacy Media, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Ocean Drive Magazine, and Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, to name a few. From community leaders to lifestyle professionals and LUNG FORCE Heroes, attendees will represent an influential segment of the tri-county area.

This one-of-a-kind event is designed to raise much-needed funds to support the fight against lung cancer and drive awareness for this vital cause.

Some statistics that may shock you:

-Lung disease is the #1 cause of death, and lung cancer is the #1 cancer-related death of both men and women, killing more Americans than breast, prostate, and colon cancer combined
-Every day, 373 Americans lose their lives to lung cancer, with a new diagnosis occurring every 2 1/2 minutes
-Only 22% of lung cancer cases are diagnosed early when the disease is most curable
-1 in 3 South Floridians are battling some form of chronic severe lung disease, such as COPD, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, or asthma
 

Through the success of fundraising evets like the LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree, 90 cents of every dollar raised is able to fund the American Lung Association's mission to tackle lung cancer, provide community support programs, and advance advocacy efforts.
