MakerGirl Goes Mobile Kickoff Party
Gala/Party for MakerGirlJun 23, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
#MakerGirlGoesMobile is BACK ON THE ROAD!
After a 3-year hiatus, our Truck Team will be packing our 3D printers into a trailer and driving it cross-country to bring 3D printing to students across the country. The trip will kick off from Chicago on June 23rd to send them off in style and raise funds to support this journey!
We have successfully run three #MakerGirlGoesMobile trips since 2016, reaching 28 states and over 2,000 students. This year in 2022, our goal is to reach an additional 600 students in 15 different cities across the South and Midwest regions from June to August. This trip plays a huge role in our organization's mission to provide underserved communities with the opportunity to learn how to use 3D printing.
MakerGirl is a not-for-profit organization that educates 7 to 22-year-old girls in STEM through multi-level workshops (MakerGirl Journey). Since our founding in 2014, we have educated over 5,000 girls through our MakerGirl Academies, #MakerGirlGoesMobile program, and our virtual sessions. We separate ourselves from other organizations doing similar work in STEM education by focusing on 3D printing because we have found that 3D printing and CAD allow girls to be both analytical and creative. We believe that when girls experience the scope and creativity within STEM, they feel more confident and capable of pursuing STEM interests and careers.
