Hello! My name is Kayleigh Plunkett, and I’m with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana. We are a nonprofit organization that provides no cost forensic interviews to children who have been victims of sexual and physical abuse and/or have witnessed violent crimes. Because of these interviews, children no longer have to tell their story to multiple people and continue to relive that trauma. Instead, they tell the story once in a safe, neutral place such as our office.

As we are all aware, child abuse is at an all time high. Being able to provide these interviews is not the only thing we assist victims and their non-offending families with. We also provide resources to children so they can begin their healing journey. Because we remain free for victims and their families, we put on an annual fundraiser that we refer to as our Mardi Gras Ball. This fundraiser provides us with the chance to update local, state, and federal first responders on how our mission has grown in the last year and bring in funds for our mission. This year, 2024, we have served over 500 children and that number is continuing to grow.

To continue to provide all that we do, we are asking for your help. During our Mardi Gras Ball, we do a silent auction. We have baskets of all types for auction. Some including tickets to events and attractions in different parts of the United States, yoga equipment baskets, coolers filled with goodies, toys, etc. These baskets will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, along with many other items. If this is something you are able to help with, we would be extremely thankful for your donation. We also understand if you are not able to at this time!
