GDMAF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing emergency assistance to individuals with HIV/AIDS.  We work with other local AIDS resource groups, and only after their resources are exhausted, do we provide financial assistance.  Because we receive no government funding, we are able to provide assistance when other groups cannot.  Some examples include:

·         Emergency car repairs – allowing individual to get to work and not lose employment

·         Rent or security deposit – by paying back rent, or deposits, we allow individuals to retain or secure housing and avoid homelessness

·         A/C or Refrigerator repairs – This helps individuals keep medicines chilled and avoid heat-related problems. 

We only provide critical assistance; we do not provide ongoing support.  We do not provide ongoing rent assistance, but we will step in when our assistance will solve the immediate need, and the individual will be able to take care of things going forward.  Over the years we have helped hundreds of people.  Preventing them from becoming homeless, unemployed or in the emergency room.

We expect approximately 700 attendees and hope to raise $65,000 from the event (ticket sales, raffle, and auction.)  We are hoping to raise $20,000 from the auction alone.  This is our largest fundraiser, and the proceeds from this event support our activities for the full year. 

All of our auction items will be promoted via the on-line auction AND at the event where items will be prominently displayed.
