Three years ago, Movies in the Pumpkin Patch (a safe socially distant drive-in movie theater event) was created to celebrate the effort of community partners. It was a combined effort response to human need during the COVID-19 pandemic and to offer some normalcy to families with children during such an unprecedented time.  Movies in the Pumpkin Patch was held at the Washington County Fairgrounds as a way to thank them for them for opening up the Fairgrounds for these relief efforts and to generate some income for laid off fairground workers.  Movies in the Pumpkin Patch has evolved into a premier regional Fall event with food truck vendors and amusements. Proceeds raised from this event support the Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope Program a nationally recognized program to help families trapped in generational poverty cycles to overcome them and become self-sufficient in a single generation. Each night before our Movie we highlight this program, its success, and its sponsors. It’s a great way to spread the word about Pathway of Hope and to recognize our supporters.
