We are a free, one-on-one tutoring non-profit organization whose Mission Statement is to improve the lives of youth, adults and families by teaching basic literacy and life skills to promote economic and social success.  We are hoping you might consider a donation this year to ensure the success of our Event.

Some facts about literacy include that children of parents with low literacy skills have a 72% chance of being at the lowest reading levels themselves.  These children are more likely to get poor grades, display behavioral problems, have high absentee rates, repeat school years or drop out of school.  Also, an excess of $230 billion a year in health care costs is linked to low adult literacy.  Nearly 

one-half of American adults have difficulty understanding and using health information.  Lack of understanding impedes adults’ abilities to make appropriate health decisions and increases the likelihood that they will incur higher health costs.
