The Nest Academy RVA 5th Annual Fun Walk is a celebration of community, bringing together young adults with complex physical and intellectual disabilities, their families, friends, and community supporters. The primary goals of the event are to bring greater community awareness, inclusivity, and celebration of this amazing population that is often left behind due to their complex disabilities, and to support Nest Academy RVA - the only organization of its kind in central Virginia that is filling an unmet need by providing inclusive social and learning opportunities for these individuals and helping them to Thrive Together. The event will be held on the grounds of Salem Baptist Church (Nest Academy is not affiliated with the church) in Manakin Sabot, VA, which includes a large, covered outdoor pavilion and beautiful grounds for our walk as well as for vendors to display their goods/services (we have access to indoor facilities in the event of rain). There will be music by a professional DJ, food trucks, animals from a local llama farm (a huge hit at previous events), and a hybrid silent/online auction. Nest is leveraging the power of the Stride peer-to-peer fundraising platform (https://trwellsfoundation.org/fundraising/) for this event to facilitate registering teams to walk & sharing team donation page links with family & friends. Sponsors and in-kind donors will be promoted on the Stride event page, with links to the online auction as well. In addition, based on thier sponsorship level, sponsors may have their logos at the top of all marketing materials, the main event banner, on Nest Academy website and social media, and on a sponsorship collage banner, along with announcement of sponsorship at the event and option to set-up company display table and banner at the event.
