NNV, a DC neighborhood non-profit, utilizes the time, expertise and talents of volunteers to ensure that older adult neighbors can age in place and stay engaged in their beloved community. NNV has won awards from the DC Council and Leading Age for its innovative work.

NNV’s fund-raiser, Tickets for a Cause is back by popular demand.  This year, the raffle will support the heart of NNV’s operations – our valued volunteers!  Every one of NNV’s 120 plus volunteers are screened, background checked, and trained before providing any services to more than 120 members.  The costs associated with their training is almost $100 per volunteer!  Tickets for a Cause hopes to raise $14,000 to offset these expenses.

 Our “Tickets for a Cause” raffle and celebration will be publicized via our mailing list and local listservs that reach over 4,000 households.  We anticipate over 200 attendees.  All monies raised from this event go support the training and background checks of NNVs volunteers – the heart and soul of our operations.  As our membership fees only support 24% of our budget, fund-raising and donations are a vital source of income to ensure our annual success. With your support, this event will be our most successful yet.

Volunteers are the key to fulfilling NNV’s vision to promote positive aging and ensure that all our members remain connected to their beloved community, resources, and thrive while growing older. 

Our event will again be held over zoom to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. We are also planning an outdoor, in person, thank you celebration for later in June.

Supporting NNV provides visibility to more than 4,000 individuals in northwest DC due to our publicizing the fund-raiser on neighborhood list servs and to our stakeholders.
