Bread & Roses is a 501(c)3 non-profit community kitchen and pantry that has been providing food and other critical necessities to the Lawrence, MA community since 1980. Our mission is to address the core necessities of the Merrimack Valley’s community members with a holistic and welcoming approach focusing on food insecurity and promoting self empowerment.

As the longest serving pantry in Lawrence, we do not accept any government funding and rely solely on the generosity of donors to make our services available to everyone. Over the past few months, we’ve also seen an increase in families from Andover, North Andover, Methuen, Haverhill, reaching out to B&R for assistance.

75% of families in Lawrence are food insecure. To help families:

- Our pantry is open more than any other pantry in Lawrence. Compared to last year, we’ve increased our impact by nearly 5000% by helping more families and distributing more food through our meal programs.
- We serve over 11,000 individuals monthly, 25x more people than this time last year.
- In the last six months, we’ve rescued 3x more food than we rescued in all of 2022.

We are excited to host our second annual gala on May 17 at the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown. We anticipate over 300 guests for a spectacular, can’t miss evening that includes entertainment from world famous mentalist Jon Stetson; delicious specialty cocktails; dinner; comedy from our MC Dave Rattigan; DJ Barry; exciting auction items, and more surprises!

Our annual fundraisers have always been successful and inspiring evenings, and this year's gala promises to be even better.
