Description

Odyssey school’s annual benefit gala will be held on April 25th, 2020 at the Filoli Historic Home and Garden, and will feature a live and silent auction. At this annual event, attended by over 100 community members, we feature a live and silent auction including gift cards, tickets, merchandise, memorabilia, and services generously donated by foundations like yours.

With your generous donation of an item to auction, you will help our school support and enlarge the diversity of our school community by providing need based scholarships. For over 20 years Odyssey School has served families living throughout the SF Bay Area. This unique school offers an accelerated academic environment, combined with an expeditionary learning program. Each year our students embark on 6-7 expeditions, climbing Mt. Whitney and Mt. Alice on the Eastern slope of the Sierras, and living aboard an oceanic vessel for five days while exploring the Santa Barbara Channel and Channel Islands. Our 8th grade year culminates with a three week Capstone Expedition to Japan. During this expedition, students explore Japanese culture, hiking the ancient Nakasendo Trail and staying at family-run inns (Ryokan). The students explore temples and gardens, navigate cities and rail systems together and experience homestays with families from our two Japanese sister schools. Our students show tremendous academic and personal growth by taking part in these expeditions and we strive to fund a scholarship program that will serve all qualified applicants, regardless of income.

Odyssey Middle school is accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and serves students at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels. We welcome the chance to publicize the goodwill of your business through our live/ silent auction, program, and weekly gala announcements leading up to the event.
