Description

Former MLB player and manager Ozzie Guillen generously donates his time and joins El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association for an annual charity golf tournmanet!

There are several sponsorship options and packages avaiable to get involved in our mission of educational attainment in the borderland!

We are a local 501(c)(3) in El Paso, Texas that uses our athletic leagues as a catalyst for educational attainment in our most at-risk communities. Serving the colonias and outlying areas, we provide mentorship and opportunity where, historically, education and community development have been limited. (For reference, the colonias have long been Texas' poorest communities, with nearly 40% living without running water. Many students, due to lack of opportunity, turn to drugs and gangs at an early age.)

We hold 3 programs aimed at elementary, middle and high school students. Our youngest student program, BASE Play RBI is affiliated with Major League Baseball and their "Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities" organization. More than sports, we drive home the importance of staying IN school, finding healthy alternatives to drugs/gangs/other "after school" choices, and provide mentorship to our youngest, moldable children! We partnered with the El Paso Chihuahuas for our summer league, Chihuahuas NeXt. Last, our high school program is not a league, but a development program. Students are required to take classroom instruction with us, in exchange for strength and conditioning clinics at no cost. This classroom instruction consists of lessons on how to fill out applications, financial literacy, finding tutoring options, homework labs, and more!

We believe there is nothing more important than educating a child, and strive to provide safe, healthy after school activities for those that need it most!
