PACE Charity Gala in support of MacWheelers and MacMS-FITT
Gala/Party for McMaster University/Physical Activity Centre of Excellence (PACE)Mar 07, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM
This event is a fundraiser in support of the PACE community exercise programs: The MacWheelers Exercise Program for adults with spinal cord injury and the MacMS-FITT program for individuals living with multiple sclerosis.
A unique integration of client-centered academic research, experiential learning, and career exploration is the ethos of PACE. The centre allows students to enhance their educational experience, while contributing to the effective rehabilitation of the participants in our community programs. Exercise rehabilitation plays an important role in the recovery and maintenance of health, the reduction of symptoms among people with a spinal cord injury, and is becoming increasingly acknowledged among health care professionals. This year we are focusing on the MacWheelers and MacMSFITT programs with the theme “we change lives.” It is our firm belief that rehabilitative strategies and physical activity/exercise are transformative in the lives of those affected by spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis.
The fundraiser will be held at Liuna Station on Thursday, March 7th at 6:00pm. The evening’s events will include a dinner, dance, raffle, and silent auction.
