Our Passionate Focus annual event speaks directly to our mission.  The event is built around an art exhibit of work done by artists with vision loss.  These artists show our guests that disability doesn't define a person, ability does.  The fundraising goal for Passionate Focus is $196,000.  We ask you to help us reach that goal.

Your donation would support the training programs Second Sense provides to individuals with vision loss.  We work individually with each client to determine their unique needs and develop a training plan.  Clients can learn to travel independently with a white cane, use any of today's technology tools, and complete daily living tasks efficiently and safely.

Second Sense has been serving Chicago for 75 years.  Our small staff of eight works individually with over 350 clients each year.

Vision loss affects every aspect of your life.  Most of our clients lost their vision as adults and have to relearn skills from basic to advanced: selecting their clothes for the day, making lunch for their kids, getting to work, sending an email, answering their phone.

Without training, people experiencing vision loss become depressed and isolated.  With training, our clients are active members of their families and communities.

Second Sense is the only organization is Chicago that provides this direct training to any client with vision loss.  And, we provide the training at no cost to our clients.
