PickleFall Charitable Auction
Online Auction for Jekyll Island Pickleball FoundationNov 02, 2024 9:00 AM to Nov 10, 2024 9:00 PM
The mission of the Seawatch Pickleball Foundation is to promote the development and growth of publicly accessible (low or no-cost) pickleball. Our vision is that the number and quality of public pickleball facilities will be increased, available to residents and visitors of all ages, levels, and abilities in an inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, healthy competition, good sportsmanship, and fun.
Pickleball is a sport at the intersection of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It's played with a modified tennis net on a badminton court, and gameplay slightly resembles tennis. Due to the ease of learning the sport, and accessibility to all age groups, pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the US, with 4.2 million players currently, and a 20% annual growth rate. This resulted in a shortage of facilities, particularly those that are available to the general public at no cost (as opposed to “pay-to-play” or country club membership access).
SWPF raises funds through charitable donations, auctions, raffles, and sales of merchandise. We will hold our 3rd annual fundraising auction later this year, to support our mission and vision. The auction will include goods, services, events, travel packages, etc., and will be offered via the “Bidding for Good” online platform. Our recent auction attracted more than 14,000 page views, and over 2000 unique visitors across the US.
Our board members are located in California, Michigan, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Mississippi - we aim to serve a broad geographic service area. This year’s auction will open on Nov 2, 2024, and conclude on Nov 10, 2024, and will be announced to local, regional, and national audiences.
Auction items will be displayed with the donor business logo and direct website link, providing excellent exposure for supporting businesses.
We appreciate your consideration of this request.
