Windy Ridge Rescue is hosting a Pour for Paws fundraising event to benefit abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. This event will be held in April as the month is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. It will feature an online silent auction and in-person raffle at the local brewery to raise money to help save the animals! The donation will be used to save more animals from high risk shelters and provide continued care to the 60+ animals currently in our rescue. We are entirely volunteer-based and hope you will consider donating. We are expecting 100-150 attendees.

In 2022 alone, Windy Ridge Rescue was responsible for the adoptions of 396 cats and 86 dogs. We transported 60 cats and 219 dogs to our partner rescues after ensuring they were up-to-date on all vaccinations and spayed/neutered (if old enough). Windy Ridge Rescue also improved the local cat community, by having 565 feral cats trapped, neutered (or spayed), and returned (TNR'd). This is the most humane and effective method known for managing feral and stray cats and helping to reduce their overpopulation. On top of all this, Windy Ridge Rescue had dozens of cats and dogs undergo surgery to give them a better quality of life or chance of survival. We accept countless accidental litters and family pets for rehoming to prevent them from being surrendered to one of the many high kill shelters in the area. Along with this, we pull higher risk animals from shelters to give these animals a second chance at life.

Your donation will help animals like Albert. Albert was attacked by a neighborhood dog and the owner picked him up and put him in the trash. Thankfully, a kind neighbor saw this occur and took him out. They tried to nurse him back to health, but he had sustained a compound fracture and they were unable to care for him. This is where Windy Ridge Rescue stepped in. They cleaned out the wound, treated him with antibiotics and coordinated to have the leg amputated. Today, Albert is living with an incredibly loving family, where he even has two dog siblings he absolutely adores!

We will put up the items for silent auction if >$75 monetary value, and up for a raffle if less than this amount. Raffles are expected to occur every 30 minutes to keep attendees entertained.
