PS 66 Q Birthday Fundraiser
Gala/Party for New York City Department of Education/ PS 66 Q Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis SchoolJun 03, 2024 3:30 PM
Each year, the staff and administration of PS 66Q come together with the community to celebrate the "birthday" of our amazing school. Our first "birthday" party was a success 6 years ago when we celebrated our school's 120th birthday! Over 2,000 community members joined in the celebration including former students even as far back as 1954. Representatives from Assemblymember Mike Miller and City Councilmember's office attended and presented Principal Helen DeSario with citations. Also present was CSA Executive Vice President Henry Rubio. Several neighboring principals and assistant principals came to support. The FDNY (Engine 294 and Ladder 143) and NYPD School Safety Uniformed Task Force Division brought fire trucks and a police van to allow our students to have an interactive experience!
This year we want to use our event as a fundraising opportunity for our students to provide a school wide assembly experience or uniforms for our students who are in need. We would greatly appreciate any tax-deductible donation, such as merchandise, gift certificates, experiences or monetary donations. Your gift and business will be appropriately acknowleded in our event program, our signage, and our public twitter.
Our organization is a non profit Title 1 New York City public school. Our mission at The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School is to challenge students to achieve their personal best and empower them to become productive and independent individuals. We believe in nurturing the gifts and talents that each child possesses as they journey through elementary school. The staff is committed to creating learning environments that promote academic rigor, innovative technology, as well as a sense of individuality to address the needs of our diverse learners. We are committed to partnering with the JKO families and the Richmond Hill community to maximize each student’s potential.
The intended use of the donation will be used toward a raffle to fundraise for the students in our low income, Title 1 school. 86% of our students presently do not have the financial resources to buy supplies, uniforms, or participate in field trips. We would like to be able to support these students for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year in a variety of ways.
