Organization mission:  To make life better for families raising a child with a severe neurological condition through connection and encouragement.  More than that, we aim to make the world more aware, more inclusive, and more accessible for people with disabilities.

Organization history:

The Kourageous Karter Foundation was created by Kole and Tiffany Goodchild. It is inspired by their parenting journey with their son, Karter.  Karter was born with an unexpected brain injury, and not expected to survive.  He turns 6 this year, and although he has a severe form of cerebral palsy, and a shortened life expectancy, his life is full.  He gives the gift of perspective to all he encounters.

Event description/purpose:

We are hosting a 5k/1 mile Kid's Fun Run, with silent auction, to raise money for our current mission project.   Our current mission project is to sponsor another family to receive a home Trexo Robotic Gait Training system.  This system allows children with disabilities to walk.  When your child will never walk, seeing them take steps through the use of medical technology is priceless.  Unfortunately, this technology is expensive ($40,000) and not yet covered by insurance. We hope to raise enough funds to purchase this essential medical technology outright and donate the experience of walking to an eligible child or children.  All kids deserve to walk, so let's come together and take some "steps" to make that happen!
