Rainbow School is one of the longest-running not-for-profit early childcare centers in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. We rely on our annual auction to fund improvements to our aging building, upgrades to technology that serve our teachers and children, equity scholarships for our summer school-age program, and "dream" projects that enhance the experience we provide for our students. 

Since our founding in 1982, Rainbow School has earned an outstanding reputation for the quality nurturing care we provide for infants and toddlers, as well as our popular and enriching summer school-age program, Over the Rainbow. 

Some examples of projects funded by the auction proceeds include: 

• Creation and expansion of our nationally recognized outdoor classroom 
• Upgraded air quality equipment and bathroom facilities
• Planting of new fruit-bearing trees and bushes that our children learn from, experience, and enjoy

Our goals for the 2024 Rainbow Disco Auction are as follows: 

• Much-needed security upgrades to our exterior doors and windows to keep our children and staff safe
• Increasing our equity fund to allow more children to have an enriching summer experience regardless of financial need
• Further investment in our outdoor education and play areas to continue promoting a strong connection to nature

The Rainbow Disco Auction will have two components. 

First, there will be an online silent auction that is live from April 5th to the end of our event on April 13th. People will be able to view and submit bids on the items we have collected. 

On April 13th, we will open our doors to paying guests for dinner, dancing, and a live auction. Silent auction items will also be on display at this time for partygoers to view. This is always a fun time with a ton of enthusiasm from our parents, community supporters, alumni, and staff.
