Description

NASW actively advocates for the professional needs of social workers and the citizens and communities they serve. Our WNY division includes Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Orleans, Alleghany, Wyoming, and Genesee counties. Social workers work in all facets of life including hospitals, schools, all levels of government, social service agencies, corporations, and veteran’s centers. Social workers strive to improve the quality of life and well-being for individuals, families, and communities through direct practice, crisis intervention, research, community organizing, policy change, advocacy, and educational programs. In fact, clinically trained social workers are the nation’s largest group of mental health service providers.

Our WNY division is currently planning continuing education programs, scholarship development, and networking activities for social work practitioners and social work students. We are particularly focused on social workers who live in rural areas and find coming to Buffalo for training a hardship. We are asking for your help with this project. Please consider donating a pair of tickets for admission to your program that would be used to help us raise funds through a raffle to members. These funds will be used to educate and support our hard-working social workers so that they can better serve clients.
