Dear Friends of Isaiah 117 House  

Isaiah 117 Auction team will a hold its 2nd Annual Red Door Auction & Gala on Saturday March 9, 2024, at St Mary’s Family life Center in Oak Ridge, Tn. Isaiah 117 is a nonprofit that cares for children while they are waiting for foster placement. When they are removed from their homes out of concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the child welfare services office to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, dirty and in desperate need of love and support. Isaiah 117 House provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait- a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement. In our first year we were able to raise over $75,000 which help to build a playground at the new house in Anderson County.  With more and more children having to enter foster care, we predict that our program will see more children coming through the new house, which will increase the need for all the everyday items that we provide to the children.  On average, we spend $500 per child that enters our doors.
