RVA Heroes is a fundraiser gala for Geek Wellness Education, a 501c3 non-profit that uses princesses, superheroes and science fiction as a way to open up conversations about mental health.
There are two main aspects to the gala.
1. A celebration honoring real life local superheroes like teachers, nurses, firefighters and more! Helping us will be celebrities from geek culture (in the past we have had celebrities from Supernatural, Avengers, Star Trek, Aliens, Frozen, Power Rangers and more) as well as local luminaries.
2. A Geek Chic Fashion Show. Professional fashion designers will present lines that are inspired by geek culture (this year featuring Jurassic Park, Miracluous Ladybug and Afrofuturism).
