This spring, SafeRides, will be hosting our eighth annual Gala, an event where the local community will come together for a night of silent auctions, speakers, and fundraising to fight back against drunk driving. With the support of the community, we hope to raise enough money to continue our mission.

SafeRides is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, student run organization that works to prevent drunk driving within the Harrisonburg community by providing free, sober rides to JMU students. Additionally, our mission includes educating the JMU community about the dangers of driving while intoxicated. Since 2007 when SafeRides began operating, rates of drunk driving have fallen by 30% in Rockingham County.

The SafeRides Gala will be held on April 23rd at Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, VA. As part of the event, we will be holding a silent auction as well as a series of smaller raffles. All proceeds from the event will serve to directly benefit the operational and educational costs of JMU SafeRides.

All donors will have their company logo printed and affixed to our advertisement space within SafeRides’ cars the weekend of Gala. In addition, every donation is tax deductible; please contact us for our tax information if this applies to you.
