Description

The Sweeter Side of Science Gala will be held on February 11, 2022 and will involve cocktails, edible delicious science experiments, a seated dinner, and silent and live auctions.  The Gala will be held in the Exhibit Hall of the Science Spectrum Museum.  The event will begin at 6:00, the attendees will have the opportunity to roam the museum, which has three floors.  They will be able to interact with the permanent hands on exhibits and display's, as well as see special experiments that will showcase the theme of the Sweeter Side of Science.  They will be able to sample science experiments that are edible, such as nitrogen ice cream, smoking cocktails, fizzy fruit, etc.  During this  time the attendees will be able to see and bid on all of the silent auction items. The silent auction tables will be set around the center of the main museum floor around at light well featuring a ballon inflated hands on experiment.  The dinner will begin at 7:30 in the exhibit hall, it will include a seated plated catered dinner, which will include some fun science themed desserts.  The program will include a video showcasing the mission of the Science Spectrum Museum, along with several testimonials that will further enhance our mission, being a non-profit museum dedicated to the pursuit of exploration and science education. This will be followed by the live auctions with a professional auctioneer guiding the bids.  The evening will conclude with a special science experiment from the stage along with the thank yous and acknowledgements, with special thanks to the auction items donors.  Thank you to Donation Match to help get some exciting donation that will enhance this event for Science Spectrum and all of the programs, outreaches, and people we serve in Lubbock and the surrounding counties.
