Description

All proceeds from this event will go towards funding the 2525 Army Cadets for items that are not covered by the Canadian Forces.

Pickering Ajax Army Cadets was first established in 1954 and continues to parade every Monday night at Pickering High School. Offering additional training in Marksmanship, Band/Music, Orienteering, Sports and Drill, The Army Cadet program for young men and women is designed to teach the youth (12-18 years of age) of our community the value of citizenship.

Leadership skills, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment are some of the skills and behaviors enforced as a cadet, while instilling a healthy self-esteem. Ontario Regiment 2525 Army cadets Corp prepares our community's youth for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities and privileges as Canadian citizens. Our leadership development program is a stimulus for promoting excellence in high school youth and acts as strong encouragement for a post-high school education.

We would like to request your assistance in providing enhanced leadership and personal responsibility development opportunities to your Cadets here in Pickering Ajax. Although partially funded through the Canadian Forces, many of our events such as competitions in fitness, academics, drill team, marksmanship and Honour guard assignments require funding from other sources. Educational and Citizenship tours can be well earned rewards but their cost is often prohibitive.

We hope to provide extra opportunities for our cadets that cannot be met with current funding and the Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction is a good way to provide some of the additional funding.
