Spring Fling
Other Event Type for Benjamin Franklin Community GardenApr 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
You are a valued part of our community and we appreciate your investment in this area. We hope you will consider connecting with and supporting another local organization, one with a long history and a notable tradition. The Ben Franklin Community Garden is the oldest and largest community garden in the Greater Cleveland area, a place where local gardeners learn and work together to grow needed food and continue a rich tradition that roots and supports the surrounding community.
We not only grow our own but we share with less fortunate members of the larger community. Last year we logged 1,687 volunteer hours and donated 1,900 pounds of fresh produce to food pantries. The difficulty is that fees for seasonal plots do not sustain the garden. Monies for expenses such as equipment, soil amendment, and grounds upkeep must come from grants and donations.
To help us continue our work and keep the garden a vibrant part of our community we are holding a fundraising event. Accompanying dinner there will be door prizes and a basket raffle.
The Garden Committee, with approval of the Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation, is asking community businesses to donate prizes for the raffle. Please consider contributing gift baskets, individual items, gift certificates, gift cards or even special large discount offers.
