Description

Summit School of the Poconos (SSP) is an unique, alternative school that represents a scaled-down version of the larger world. Students create, imagine, and explore while they
learn in a meaningful way. They learn to set goals, plan for goals, achieve
goals, and collaborate with their peers and mentors. SSP using project-based, STEAM methodologies to teach in a manner that embraces the twenty-first century, and to graduate students to compete and work in a competitive, evolving workforce. We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit.

The Spectacular Tricky Tray is being held to provide support for what our students need -- classroom and enrichment supplies that are not covered by the tuition received by our parents. Since we are a private school and are not publicly funded, it is our responsibility to raise funds for anything we need that tuition does not cover.

One unique feature of our event is that we plan on having our older students work the basket raffle. On the day of, they will act as hosts, greeters and runners. We believe the work they do on this day reinforces many of the fundamental values we work daily to instill in our students. Not only do they learn about the importance of being of service to others, they also experience first-hand the benefits of what hard work and dedication can accomplish. Essentially, they are taking a part of earning funding they will use in the classroom.

Our goal for SSP's Spectacular Tricky Tray on Saturday, June 1, 2019 is to host to at least 250 baskets and attract a minimum of 300 attendees. This event will be advertised to all communities within the Pocono region, surrounding Pennsylvania, NJ and NY.
