Description

This year our annual Step Forward to Cure Tuberous Sclerosis walk will be held on June 8th at its usual location in Long Beach at El Dorardo Park.  My name is Frances Harper and I represent the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.  We are an organization that helps fund research and educates families, patients, caregivers, and the community on Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC).  TSC is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in various organs, primarily the brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, skin and lungs. It’s also the leading genetic cause of both epilepsy and autism.  Therefore much of our research benefits the epilepsy and autism communities.

My personal story and motivation is my 5 year old daughter Rosy.  Rosy was diagnosed with TSC at 10 months and as a result she also battles epilepsy, autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD and has tumors in her brain, eyes, and kidneys.  We fight on a daily basis because our child is our world.  We attend conferences and educate ourselves and overcome our own fears pushing past our comfort zones because we want to be part of a cure.  We believe in a cure, we believe in research and educating people.

We would love some support.  We need sponsors, donations such as water, raffle items, food, etc.  and of course promotion.

Our community is so loving and giving and full of spirit and the disabilities range from mild to severe.

If you are willing to support in any way we are extremely grateful or if you have any ideas for us please let us know!
