My name is Crissy Schrubb. I am the Program Coordinator of a nonprofit agency in New Braunfels, Texas, called STEPS. I want to introduce you to our program. We are made up of over 30 volunteers and three employees. Our focus is on helping decrease the dependency on welfare programs and crisis in the lives of our friends and neighbors right here in our community. We also have a LEAPS program
(Leading Educational Advances to Prepare Students), designed to equip juniors and seniors in high school with the information, encouragement, and life skills needed to prepare them for college or vocational school and beyond. The STEPS program has been very successful! So far, over the past ten years, we have graduated 145 clients from our program—accomplishing significant tasks! We have witnessed clients completely get off welfare, maintain job stability, improve overall health and relationships. Single moms have gone back to school and earned a degree—we are seeing families change to become productive residents in our community who can give back. Our funding comes from other nonprofit organizations, foundations and grants, individual donors, and our annual golf tournament, graduation gala, and end-of-year campaign fundraisers. 

We will hold our10th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Landa Park Golf Course on Friday, March 25, 2022, with an 8:30 am Shot Gun Start. The funds raised will be used to pay for program services, including employee salaries, operating expenses, and financial assistance for our clients. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Therefore, all your donations and support are tax-deductible, Tax ID #: 45-3655862.
