The San Antonio Success Center provides educational tutoring services to at-risk students who attend the iSchool Virtual Academy of Texas.  Our students are located all over the state of Texas, but the San Antonio students have a special site where they can physically go to receive additional help. 

Our mission is: “To provide quality tutoring support that will result in students achieving academic success. We put the needs and goals of each student first in all that we do.”  We do this by providing one-on-one in person tutoring services, career education classes and a learning lounge environment where students can meet, study and learn from each other.

We are a new organization in the community and we are looking to build partnerships with businesses and community members.  We are reaching out to the community to enlist your assistance in an effort to help our students achieve success this school year.

Students can earn up to 5 points each time they:
Attend a tutoring session
Complete the assigned work/practice from the session
Work hard/participate during the session
Spend at least 30 minutes or more in the Learning Lounge
Come on time
Help other students
Make a 100% on your exit ticket
Refer/invite other students to come to the Success Center

All students will earn Champion Chips to spend at the Success Store based on their number of points for that month.  The person with the highest points for that month will receive an additional prize. The top 5 students will earn 10 Champion Chips, the next 5 students will earn 5 Champion chips and the other will each earn 3 Champion Chip to spend.  These may be collected to purchase bigger prizes so everyone will receive something. 

Each month, I (as Site Coordinator) compile the points gained and award an overall winner (highest point total). Each student is able to get smaller things from the store (so everyone gets something) but the big winner gets gift cards, movie tickets, pizzas, sodas, admittance to fun venues (water parks, skating, swimming, games etc.), food, coupons towards free food or activities. Anything we can find to keep them working towards achievable goals.
