The Guidance Center, founded in 1946, serves over 3,000 clients a year in our Long Beach, Compton, and San Pedro clinics, and through school-based programs and community outreach events. Our power of purpose is to continually strive toward breaking down barriers that prevent our community from receiving the help they need to thrive.

For over seven decades, it has been our mission to support disadvantaged children and families, some who are victims of trauma or abuse, providing comprehensive mental health treatment through a variety of programs and services. With 100% of our clients identifying as low-income and oftentimes from underserved communities, we aim to alleviate many of the barriers our clients and their families experience when trying to access mental health care and other resources. 

Our annual spring gala, Sunset Sip, is an opportunity to highlight client success stories, provide program and organization updates to our donors and community partners, as well as fundraise through our silent and live auctions. As we join together at this year’s Sunset Sip: Breaking Barriers to raise money to support children and families struggling with mental illness, we encourage you to contribute to their futures by providing a donation to our silent auction.
