Description

The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is a free, multi-day community celebration of the arts, sports, culture and heritage that attracts thousands of visitors each year. The Festival, with up to 200 teams in competitive and corporate & community categories is a spectacular event to attend in the Nation’s Capital.

ODBF was established to focus on philanthropic efforts in the local community. Its mission is to help build, strengthen and enhance community life in Ottawa by raising, managing and distributing funds to charitable organizations.

Fundraising has been a part of the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival for over 20 years. To-date $5.7 million has been raised in support of 80 local charities. Ongoing support from participants and members of the general public, in addition to the funds raised through our renowned silent auction, will help us to continue our tradition of giving back to our community.

ODBF raises funds through its annual fundraising campaign, the ODBF Pledge Challenge. Funds are raised through pledges collected by thousands of participants, a 50/50 lottery, corporate donations, and our annual ODBF Charity Silent Auction. The funds raised help support local programs and projects in the Ottawa area who provide essential services to thousands of people in need in our community.

This year, the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation is supporting several local charities including Bruyère Health Foundation, Matthew House, Children's Aid Foundation, Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, and the Youth Services Bureau.

The audience our auction will target includes the 5,000 participants, 75,000 spectators, 500 volunteers and many other supporters attending the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, in addition to Festival sponsors and funders. The Tim Hortons Dragon Boat Festival is recognized internationally and draw audiences from all over North America. We see people of all ages, genders and of different financial stages.

We are requesting support in the form of in-kind donations for our annual Charity Silent Auction such as a gift basket or a specific product you would like to showcase to our audience. Gift certificates are also a great way to draw people into your business to learn more about who you are and what you offer!

Your contribution will be included in our online auction leading up to the festival and on display in our Charity Silent Auction Tent throughout the event where thousands of people check out the auction, as one of the most visited areas at the festival!
