Description

Thank you for taking a moment to read our request for a donation towards the Newark Bait and Fly Casting Club (“NBFCC”) Disabled Veterans Fishing Trip,  to be held in July 2024.

This trip is provided to a group of disabled veterans by the Newark Bait and Flycasting Club at no charge to the veterans.  We charter a head boat and take approximately fifty veterans out for the day.   Breakfast and lunch are provided.  There are prizes for the biggest, smallest, most, least, ugliest hat, and anything else we can think of.  Everyone receives a prize.

All the members pay their own way, nobody from the club rides free. We hope you can help us make this event a huge success!  As the Covid 19 pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives, the fishing club has suffered several financial setbacks.  We earnestly request whatever support you may find appropriate.

Proceeds from any donations will be used to provide  fishing trips for disabled veterans as well as  fishing events for people with special needs.  We have had over 100 people with special needs attend for a day long event which includes fishing, food  and prizes for all participants.

The NBFCC was first organized in April 1907 in a small fishing tackle shop in Newark, NJ and is now the oldest scientific angling and casting club in the eastern United States, as well as one of the oldest in the nation. Having recently celebrated its 110th anniversary, the club remains dedicated to assist veterans, children, and disabled individuals in our state and local communities, as well as promoting conservation efforts around the country. These events include Fishing with Special Friends, the Kids’ Trout Derby, Heroes on the Water,  Hooked on Fishing, not on Drugs, and seminars about the importance of conservation at many sporting and outdoor shows throughout the year.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, our Tricky Tray is our most popular fundraiser of the year and we rely solely on the generosity of donors in order to hold this event each year. We are very excited to welcome over 200 guests to this year’s event and hope to obtain the support of businesses such as yours to make it a success. In return for your company’s donation of a product, a gift certificate, service, or a monetary donation, we would be pleased to provide you with:

A tax deduction to the extent allowed by law (Federal Tax ID number below);
Acknowledgment in the evening’s program, on social media, on our club website, and in an announcement at the event; and
In-person recognition at the event if a representative is in attendance.

You may mail your donation to the address provided below and labeled to the attention of Ed Baluta.

We truly appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you soon.  We are also able to accept cash donations through our website.

Sincerely,

Edward Baluta, Fundraising Chair
