The W-L Crew Team relies on the generosity of our extended community to supplement the cost of operating and maintaining a rowing team of over 100 diverse student- athletes. This year we are initiating an annual W-L Crew Silent Auction, both on-line and a social event in April. Proceeds generated by this event support the W-L Crew Boosters in providing a competitive learning environment for the entire team. The program is open to all W-L High School students and eighth graders in the district. Every athlete that trains with the team is provided an opportunity to compete.

The operation of a large and widely available crew team requires additional support beyond what the school system can provide. The W-L Crew Boosters generate this additional support. The families of rowers pay dues and lead fundraising efforts. Many of our rowers are on ‘scholarship’. Community support is critical to the continued success of our athletes both on the water and in the classroom. The W-L Crew Boosters is a 501(c)3 non-profit so your donation is tax deductible. History of W-L Crew; W-L Crew is one of the most storied high school teams in the country. The program was started in 1949 by legendary coach Charlie Butt to provide access to the sport to a public high school. W-L Crew has had a long history of competitive success nationally and internationally to include multiple national champions and victories at Royal Henley. The program has produced and continues to produce elite rowers with medalists in world and Olympic championships. Many of the team's alumni have become high school, college, and national team coaches. Our athletes train hard and excel academically. Most of our athletes are in advanced studies and are honors students. Every year multiple team members are accepted to the best universities in the nation.
