My name is Wendy McNaughton and I’m a volunteer fundraising parent with Davis Youth Softball Association.  DYSA is a youth recreational fastpitch softball league for ages 4 1/2 to 16.  Our goal is to create a positive environment where young female athletes build life skills such as leadership, time management, communication, good sportsmanship, and teamwork all while having fun playing a sport they love.  

We are reaching out to you in hopes of building a relationship with your business and our community.

DYSA reached an agreement this year with the City of Davis requiring gender equity under the Fair Play in Community Sports Act.  This agreement now allows DYSA to improve its fields, get enhanced storage, install nighttime lighting and start the process of building a concession stand at Community Park.  DYSA is a non profit organization and as such we receive very limited funding.  We rely heavily on parents and community businesses like yours to support our program.  We cannot impress upon you enough the importance of your support at this time.  We are hosting our first community team building FUN-Draising auction on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 and would love for you to help us reach our goals.  Would you be willing to donate a gift certificate or merchandise to use in our Auction?   As our local families do their best to shop local and support your business, we hope you can in turn help support our young athletes.

We will prominently advertise your business through signage at our event to the hundreds of families that will be joining us.  You will also be listed as a donor in our event program.  We will also send a follow up letter to all of the businesses and families who joined us, thanking you and acknowledging your generous donation.

It is my personal mission to make sure youth softball in Davis not only grows but flourishes in our community and helps develop our future generation to be respectful, resourceful, and responsible adults.
