DYSA is a youth recreational fastpitch softball league for ages 4 1/2 to 16. Our goal is to create a positive environment where young female athletes build life skills such as leadership, time management, communication, good sportsmanship, and teamwork all while having fun playing a sport they love.
We are reaching out to you in hopes of building a relationship with your business and our community. We are hosting our first community team building FUN-Draising auction on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 and we think this would be a great opportunity to connect the two.
In order to make our auction a reality, we are seeking unique and interesting items to auction off. We would like to ask your company if you’d be willing to donate. Here are a couple of ways you can help. We are asking for you to donate gift cards/certificates, physical items to be displayed separately or as a basket, travel packages, vacation accommodations, or experience packages. We will prominently advertise your business through signage at our event to the hundreds of families that will be joining us. You will also be listed as a donor in our event program. We will also send a follow up letter to all of the businesses and families who joined us, thanking you and acknowledging your generous donation. Your donation will ensure we are able to continue our efforts.
DYSA reached an agreement this year with the City of Davis requiring gender equity under the Fair Play in Community Sports Act. This agreement now allows DYSA to improve its fields, get enhanced storage, install nighttime lighting and start the process of building a concession stand at Community Park. DYSA is a non profit organization and as such we receive very limited funding. We rely heavily on parents and community businesses like yours to support our program. We couldn’t do this without the community’s support and belief in the importance of youth sports.
As a volunteer parent and mom of a daughter who loves softball, it is my personal mission to make sure youth softball in Davis not only grows but flourishes in our community and helps develop our future generation to be respectful, resourceful, and responsible adults and I hope with your help, we can make this a reality.
