We here at United Way Northwest Indiana are getting excited for our 2023 Women United Bunco Bash on Thursday, April 27 at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana.  We estimate that over 200 women will be in attendance, and our goal is to raise $20,000 for our Women United Initiatives. 

I thought you might be interested in helping support your community by considering contributing silent auction items to support our Women United program.

Women United focuses on women’s initiatives to build a stronger community for all in Northwest Indiana. Members are dedicated to creating a world full of opportunity and change through service, such as teaming up with Level Up, a program that helps residents break barriers to create better financial well-being for them and their families. In addition, we support nonprofits that directly benefit women and children.

I joined Women United and now manage the program because I truly believe that we all have a role in making Northwest Indiana a better place to live for everyone. I love the variety of volunteer opportunities I’ve been able to participate in, such as leading women’s life skills classes at PACT Recovery Connection in Valparaiso and being a food pantry volunteer at Sojourner Truth House in Gary.

Members also serve as Level Up mentors and support women and children through programs at Haven House in Hammond, The Caring Place in Valparaiso, and St. Jude House in Crown Point.

As we prepare for this year’s Bunco Bash, we want to do even more for the community. That means we need your continued support to make this year’s bash even better! 

Please consider contributing items, including gift cards, to be used as Bunco silent auction prizes. Your business will receive attention through our United Way Northwest Indiana Facebook page and Women United Facebook Group and be listed on our event score cards.

Additionally, you are welcome to provide swag items for the 200 attendee swag bags that will be distributed.

Together, we can create lasting change on a scale that no single individual or organization could achieve on their own. With your help, we are one step closer to seeing this goal realized.
