Description
Every minute, 20 individuals are forced to leave their lives behind to escape war, terror and persecution. On Saturday, June 18th, AURA will be commemorating the strength and courage of refugees around the world. Our keynote speaker this year is Farkhunda Muhtaj. She is a captain of the Afghan women's football team and an activist who rescued several girls from Afghanistan and gave me the gift of a new life. Additionally, a representative from UNHCR Canada will also be delivering opening remarks.
This event is a fundraiser and proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the sponsorship & resettlement of refugees in Canada.
