The York Region Walk n Roll & Silent auction is a community event, to raise awareness and funds for the GBS/CIDP foundation of Canada. This is always a fun event for families and kids, we have the famous kid run, with mini marathon medals, and a silent auction with some some truly amazing items, including tickets to blue jays, Leaf tickets, signed Hockey jerseys, wine tasting & tour certificates, and more!

Justin and I became involved with the GBS/CIDP foundation of Canada after Justin was diagnosed with the condition 6 years ago. 6 years ago, we had no idea what GBS or CIDP was; Justin went from totally healthy to completely paralyzed requiring months in hospital/rehab. He was one of the lucky ones, and after months of rehab he learned to walk, talk and skate again. Now after 6 years, he has about 85% of his function/strength back, compared to pre-illness.

Today, we help the GBS/CIDP foundation of Canada with awareness and raising funds for patient support. The walk is equally about awareness as it is about fundraising.
