ABOUT US
Prevention Action Alliance (PAA) is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing substance misuse and promoting mental health wellness. We believe that education, empowerment, and advocacy are key to creating healthy communities.

ABOUT THE EVENT
The Your Role in Prevention Luncheon is PAA’s premier fundraiser to raise awareness about the more than 2 million Ohioans who have a mental health or substance use disorder. Prevention Action Alliance is pleased to welcome the Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy as keynote speaker.  Kennedy is a former member of Congress and a leading voice in the national conversation around mental health and substance misuse prevention. During his time in Congress, Kennedy co-authored the landmark Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, which requires insurers to cover treatment for mental health and substance use disorders no more restrictively than treatment for physical illnesses. In 2013, he founded The Kennedy Forum, a nonprofit that unites advocates, business leaders, and government agencies to advance evidence-based practices, policies, and programming in mental health and substance misuse.

By partnering with Prevention Action Alliance, you will be joining a movement to improve the lives of Ohioans by advocating for mental health resources and services. Working together, we can raise awareness about the importance of seeking help when struggling with mental illness and prevent loved ones from developing a substance use disorder
