The mission of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. AFSP is the largest private funder of suicide prevention research, and provides education services on a local level, and has almost 40,000 advocates nationwide to work with legislators on mental health policy issues. The AFSP San Diego chapter serves the entire San Diego and Imperial County regions and provides local education, outreach, resources, support, and community events.
