Bethany is a 501(c)(3) non-profit child welfare organization that has protected vulnerable children since 1944 by bringing and keeping families together. We have operated in Virginia for over 30 years.
Bethany of Virginia has recently launched the Safe Families for Children program, which strives to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing emergency respite housing for children of parents facing temporary crisis, while surrounding the parents with a caring circle of support to mentor and assist them in getting back on their feet and providing a healthier home for children to return to.
Bethany of Virginia also provides quality social services in adoption, refugee assistance, free options counseling for parents facing unplanned pregnancy, and post-adoption support and search and reunion assistance for adoptees and birthparents.
