Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star is proud to be named one of this year's beneficiaries of Black Tie Dinner, the largest fundraising dinner of the LGBTQ community in the nation. This year our agency will serve 3,000 North Texas youth by matching them with positive adult volunteer mentors through our carefully monitored program. Funds raised from Black Tie Dinner on November 3, 2018 will help us expand our services to LGBTQ youth, promote enngagement of understanding volunteers, and continue to develop our staff and volunteer's cultural competences. LGBTQ youth continue to face significant challenges due to bullying, discrimination and stigma. BBBS Lone Star is the largest mentoring organization in the world and is committed to being a welcoming, affirming and positive influlence in the lives of LGBTQ youth to help them overcome the obstacles they face.
