For the past 29 years, The Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) has provided FREE services to ease the physical, emotional, and economic impact for all those affected by cancer in the greater Hamilton area. Last year the Cancer Assistance Program saved 3,248 Registered Clients and their families in our community over $830K.

In 2022, CAP provided the following services:

·         Registered 1220 New Clients

·         8,934 Transportation rides to and from cancer related medical appointments

·         1,702 Free Parking spots for appointments at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic

·         1,486 Home health Equipment loans

·         3,253 packages of Incontinence products

·         3,865 six-packs of Nutritional supplements

·         31 Breast Prosthesis

·         81 Wigs

·         12 Educational Podcasts on cancer related topics

·         19,667 Volunteer hours

Supports continue for as long as individuals require them. With no sustainable government funding, CAP is challenged each year with raising more funds to meet our community's demand and we cannot do it alone. CAP relies greatly on the generous support of the community and proceeds raised from signature events held throughout the year.  Partnering with community donors who have made CAP their Charity of Choice makes a huge difference.  These partnerships allow CAP to continue to provide help when it is needed most for those with a cancer diagnosis and for the caregivers who are supporting them.
